When I grow big...

It's Sunday afternoon. This weekend is almost done. In twelve hours or so, I know I'll be battling to wake up, battling to dispel the sleep from my eyes. Tequila, Mojitos and Caipirinhas.

As I battle to find the performance related problems on my moms PC, I think back on the days of my youth. Particularly, what I wanted to be when I grew up - a scientist. I could not imagine anything more exciting than looking inside cells, cloning sheep name Dolly and ending world hunger. Professor Karrim kind of had a nice way of rolling off the tounge. At age twelve, I had a lab coat and a microscope that I took to school for career day. My speech was quite compelling, I'm sure it produced some actual scientists from that class, though not me.

Funny thing is, I don't exactly remember the point that this dream of mine changed. For a short while, I wanted to be a doctor, then it became following a career in computers - which it is today. I don't know if my vocation today really excites me. I'm not too old to change my mind altogether, start a soya bean farm and end world hunger.

Scientist!! Nice!! I think you are correct in saying you not too old to change your mind altogether. So many people limit themselves, their dreams and their thoughts because they are too afraid they wont be good enough.(me included) Like I told you before Delon,so many of us become stuck in the metamorphosis of our thinking that we become so complacent where we are at that we forget about our dreams, our goals and our purpose!!Then they became a distant memory.

That is so scary to think about on its own.

You have a great philosophy on life. Its so refreshing!! It makes me want to persue my dream of becoming a doctor.

I believe if you can see it, you can do it. Its that simple!! But not so simple if you bombard yourself with negative thoughts.

Haha I remember Dolly. I followed every article on that sheep. It was very exciting!!

Keep the posts rolling...Will be looking out.

You may solve world hunger with soya farming, but have you tasted soya? Its not too great. But i guess beggars cant be choosers

My dream was to be a director or a writer. The writer dream may still be alive, but the director has long passed.

We shouldnt sacrifice our lives for our dreams though

I remember your scientist phase and at the time i was in one too. The big shot Lawyer. Wow, sounds so far away when you think about it now.

I don't think people are too old to change the paths they choose, they only need the courage to stp out of their comfort zones and do.

here is something i read yesterday,i thought it was interesting......

"There's a tribe in Alaska who believes that we all carry an invisible backpack with us wherever we go. Whenever we sin, we put another rock in that backpack. The longer we live, the more regrets we seem to accumulate - those things that we should have done that we didn't do; the things we thought we'd never do that we have done. Our backpack contains the pain of our past, the guilt over our mistakes, the shame of our sins. Sometimes, for a short time, you can forget about the burdens you carry. But eventually the weight of it all is there again, crushing our spirit and holding us back."

How do you get rid of this back pack you may ask!! No...you cant just take it off and place it on the ground.Nothing youv'e accumalated over many years can be dispelled so easily. The answer is in Matthew 11:28.It says 'come to me,all you who are weary and burdened and i will give you rest. Only Jesus can take it off!!!

HHHMM! Have you been inspired by my blog? I hope so, dreams are so important, hence my title. You are a kind of scientist though, a computer scientist:-)
